The Espelkamp Station is a train station in the East Westphalian town of Espelkamp in Minden-Lübbecke in the northeast of North Rhine-Westphalia on the railroad Bassum-Herford , also called Ravensberger Bahn (KBS 386). Nowadays, the aforementioned railway line is only served to Rahden and no longer as it used to be to Bassum with a connection to the main line to Bremen .
history
Espelkamp's former "Espelkamp" train station, built in 1899, was originally about 800 meters further north. The new station was first opened in the 1950s as "Espelkamp-Mittwald", the name of the city at the time. First a car body had to serve as a train station, in 1960 today's relatively modern-looking station building was built. He owned relatively large freight facilities with two loading tracks. These were built from 1960 and are now fallow. Also in 1960 it was renamed "Espelkamp" together with the city. The old station was closed in 1960.

In local rail passenger transport , the station is served every hour by the regional train line RB 71 of the Eurobahn , which changes its line number at Bielefeld Hbf and continues as the RB 67 to Münster . Diesel railcars of the Talent type are used.

Bus transport
Regional buses run to Lübbecke , Minden , Rahden and Preußisch Oldendorf , and a citizen bus is also offered. The public transport in Espelkamp part of the tariff association " Westphalia tariff " in the regional network "TeutoOWL" ( VVOWL ).
