The Fredericia Station is a railway station in the Danish town of Fredericia . The station is the junction of the Østjyske længdebane to Aarhus and Aalborg , the København – Fredericia railway to Nyborg and the Flensburg – Fredericia railway .
New train station
The station is the second station in the city and was built at the same time as Lillebæltsbroen across the Little Belt and inaugurated on May 14, 1935.
old trainstation
The station replaced the old terminus at the port, from which a train ferry connected to Strib on Funen up until that point . The old train station on Oldenborggade is used as an office building.
Technical specifications
The station is one of only five in Denmark with a concourse (next to Københavns Hovedbanegård and Aarhus Hovedbanegård , the S-Bahn station Nørrebro and the closed station in Gedser ). The old terminal station at the port also had a station concourse of this type, but it was demolished.
The station has Denmark's longest platforms. The four platforms with the seven platform tracks are each 330 meters long.
traffic
Fredericia is an important transport hub for Danske Statsbaner (DSB), where many passengers have to change trains. Most InterCity and InterCityLyn trains from Copenhagen are split (winged) in Fredericia to travel to different destinations in Jutland . Conversely, the trains from the different cities are put together when they go to Copenhagen. In addition, regional trains run (Regionaltog).
