The Reboleira Station is a railway station in the same Freguesia the Portuguese city of Amadora in the district of Lisbon and one of the three stations on their territory. It is located on the Linha de Sintra and is served by suburban trains of the CP Urbanos de Lisboa . A connection to the Lisbon subway network was completed in 2016.

history

The station was opened in 1999 as a replacement for the Jota Pimenta stop , which was built in the 1960s but never used as such by the CP , and which was around 500 meters east of the current station on the Linha de Sintra.

Location and facilities

Along with Amadora and Santa Cruz-Damaia, the station is one of the three Amadorens stations on the Linha de Sintra and is located in the freguesia of the same name. The Estádio José Gomes of the CF Estrela Amadora football club is also nearby , as is the former Bombardier Transportation / Sorefame Amadoras factory. As part of the four-track expansion of the Linha de Sintra between Benfica and Monte Abraão, the station has been made accessible and barrier-free. There is a bar and a few retail shops in the station itself. The station has two side and one central platform,

traffic

The station is served exclusively by the train routes of the Linha de Sintra line family of CP Urbanos de Lisboa. The two train routes Sintra - Lisbon Rossio and Mira Sintra-Meleças - Lisbon Roma-Areeiro - Lisbon Oriente overlap every ten minutes. In addition, additional trains run between Sintra and Alverca during rush hour , which also serve Reboleira station. Reboleira is connected to the Lisbon long-distance train stations Oriente and Entrecampos , where direct connections are offered to Porto, the Alentejo and the Algarve, among others.

Subway

In the second half of 2012, the extension of the Linha Azul , which previously ended in Amadora Este , is to be extended to Reboleira. Construction began in 2008 and the initial cost was 39 million euros. The opening was originally scheduled for 2012, after delays and cost increases, the route and the new Reboleira underground station were finally opened to traffic on April 13, 2016.
