Reboleira is a metro station on the Linha Azul of the Lisbon Metro , the subway network of the Portuguese capital . The station is located under Rua das Indústrias street just before the intersection with Rua Vitor Alves street in Amadora town . The subway station has been the northern terminus of Linha Azul since it opened on April 14, 2016 , the only neighboring station is Amadora Este . A few meters away from the subway station is the suburban train station Reboleira on the Linha de Sintra.

history

With the opening of the last section of the Linha Azul in 2004 between Pontinha and Amadora Este, it was planned to extend the underground line further into the center of the city of Amadora. it should be linked to the suburban railway line between Sintra and Lisbon (Linha de Sintra).

The construction work for the line began in 2007/08, the opening was originally planned for August 2010, later in 2012. Due to financing problems and delays in the allocation of funds from the European Union, the completion was initially postponed to the end of 2015, the costs were accordingly 60 million euros. Ultimately, the extension and the metro station itself was opened by Prime Minister António Costa on April 14, 2016.

The station has - like practically all stations of the Lisbon metro system - two 105 meter long side platforms. Stairs and escalators lead from both platforms to a central mezzanine. From there there are two entrances to the surface, two to the northeast and two to the northwest. The suburban train station with the same name is located about 200 meters south of the underground station.

At the underground station you can change trains to suburban trains in the direction of Lisbon (Rossio) , Sintra and Mira.
