The Apeldoorn – Deventer railway is a railway line between Apeldoorn and Deventer in the Netherlands . The railway line is an important freight link between Randstad and Germany as well as a busy railway line for passenger traffic. The length of the route is about 15 kilometers.

history

The first section of the line, between Apeldoorn and Twello , was opened on November 21, 1887. On September 1, 1888, the part between Twello and Deventer followed. The electrification took place in 1951. The top speed is 130 km / h.

At the moment there is an InterCity train pair from Amsterdam to Apeldoorn every half hour, which will be extended to Deventer during peak hours . There are also InterCity trains from Amsterdam to Berlin , from The Hague to Enschede and a regional train from Apeldoorn to Enschede.
