The Deventer – Almelo railway is a railway line between Deventer and Almelo in the Netherlands . The railway line is an important freight link between Randstad and Germany as well as a busy railway line for passenger traffic. The route is around 38 kilometers long.

history

The line was opened on September 1, 1888 by the Dutch railway company KNLS . The electrification took place in 1951. The top speed is 130 km / h.

Train traffic

At the moment there is an InterCity train pair running every half hour on the route from Den Haag Centraal to Enschede, which is divided in Utrecht Centraal , whereby the other part goes to Rotterdam Centraal . There are also InterCity trains from Schiphol to Berlin , Schiphol and Enschede, as well as a regional train from Apeldoorn to Enschede.
