The Bütow – Rummelsburg (Pomerania) railway is a no longer operated railway line that ran in a south-westerly direction within today's Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship . It connected the district town of Bütow with the then district town of Rummelsburg .
Geographical location
The Bütow – Rummelsburg (Pomerania) railway ran near the border between the former Prussian provinces of Pomerania and West Prussia , which between 1920 and 1939 formed the German border with the Polish corridor . It also ran parallel to the former German Reichsstrasse 158 , which led from Lauenburg (Pomerania) via Bütow and Rummelsburg (Pomerania) to Berlin and whose route now uses the Polish state road 20 .
history
The city of Bütow was connected to the Stargard – Danzig line of the Berlin-Szczecin Railway Company via Zollbrück (now Polish: Korzybie ) and Schlawe ( Sławno ) since 1884 . 1901 and 1902 led further routes to Lippusch (Lipusz) and Berent (Kościerzyna) as well as Lauenburg (Pomerania). On November 23, 1909, the railway line to Rummelsburg (Pomerania), which had a connection to the Neustettin – Zollbrück line built in 1878 by the Prussian Eastern Railway , was opened.
As a result of the Second World War , the Bütow – Rummelsburg railway was shut down and partially dismantled. The Polish State Railways did not reactivate them.
