The Hausach – Schiltach line , also known as the Kinzig Valley Railway , is a branch line in Baden-Württemberg . It runs in the Black Forest from Hausach to Schiltach and follows the course of the Kinzig along its entire length .
history
The line was opened by the Baden State Railways on July 5, 1878 from Hausach to Wolfach and extended to Schiltach on November 4, 1886 . At the same time, the Royal Württemberg State Railways put the section from Schiltach to Freudenstadt Hbf into operation.
business
The passenger transport previously operated by Deutsche Bahn AG was taken over on December 12, 2004 by Ortenau-S-Bahn GmbH (OSB), which was merged in 2014 with the parent company SWEG , which has been operating the route since then. Since then, through trains have been running every hour from Freudenstadt Hbf to Offenburg , with the Baden Black Forest Railway running between Hausach and Offenburg . The train crossing usually takes place in Alpirsbach at the usual symmetry minute just before the hour. Most trains continue via Offenburg to Bad Griesbach , the terminus of the Renchtalbahn .
Air- conditioned regional shuttles operated by SWEG are used. On "normal days" around 2200 people use the Kinzig Valley Railway.
