Baierdorf is a village and a cadastral municipality in the market town of Ravelsbach in Lower Austria .

geography

The two-street village , west of Ravelsbach, lies in a valley of the Ravelsbach . Just south of the village, the L48 state road passes the village.

history

Baierdorf is mentioned in a document in 1275. After the reforms of 1848/1849 , the town was established as an independent municipality in 1850 and was assigned to the Ravelsbach district until 1868 and then to the Hollabrunn district . In 1967 Baierdorf merged with other municipalities to form the large municipality of Ravelsbach .

Local chapel and small monuments

  • The local chapel was built in 1791/92 and restored after the fire in 1838. The late baroque building has a retracted semicircular apse and a gable turret with a pyramid helmet . The semicircular windows and the portal are framed with plaster tape.
  • Statue with mercy seat in the town center; On a chamfered column with a profiled collar plate at the bottom and a roof-like beveled top is the relief-shaped cuboid top with a representation of the Trinity in the form of a mercy seat from 1680.
  • Figure shrine of St. John Nepomuk , south of the village; on a high inscription base, which is marked 1760, stands the figure of St. Johannes Nepomuk.
  • Wayside shrine on the road to Eggendorf; Octagonal shaft with square picture attachment and marked 1655.
  • Marian column, south of the village; A statue of Maria Immaculata , dated 1728 , sits enthroned on a round column .
