Balázs Laluska [ ˈbɒlaːʒ ˈlɒluʃkɒ ] (born June 20, 1981 in Szeged , Hungary ) is a former Hungarian handball player . He is 2.00 m tall and was mostly used in the right back space.

Career

Balázs Laluska started playing handball in his hometown at SC Szeged . There he also made his debut in the first Hungarian league, but never managed to get past series champion KC Veszprém with Szeged . He then moved to Ademar León in the Spanish ASOBAL league in 2005 . With the Castilians he was in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2007 , but failed at the German HSV Hamburg . In 2008 Laluska returned to his old club from Szeged. A year later he moved to RK Koper . Also a year later he moved to Hungary, this time to KC Veszprém. With the Hungarian record champions, he won the championship and cup in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In the summer of 2013 he signed a contract with al-Wasl from Dubai. A season later he ran for the French club Montpellier Handball . In 2015 he moved to the Hungarian second division club FKSE Algyő. Here Laluska ended his career after the 2015/16 season and took on a coaching position in the youth field.

Balázs Laluska played 148 international matches for the Hungarian national team . At the 2007 World Cup in Germany he was only part of the extended squad of his country, at the 2008 European Handball Championship in Norway he was eliminated with Hungary after the main round. In the summer of 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London and narrowly missed a medal in fourth.
