Balduin Thieme

Balduin Thieme (pseudonym Peter Uhu , born September 8, 1910 in Dresden ; † December 12, 1996 ibid), was a German poet and writer .

Life

Born in Dresden-Übigau, Balduin Thieme studied philosophy , German and folklore in Dresden , Vienna and Leipzig . His thesis on the folk customs of the Wends / Sorbs was not accepted for ideological reasons and was destroyed in the Dresden fire in 1945 .

He found his first job in 1937 at the radio, Sender Dresden, for which he worked again from 1945 after his military service.

Since around 1950 he has also published under the pseudonym "Peter Uhu".

From 1953 to 1970 he worked as a culture editor for the Sächsisches Tageblatt in Dresden. From 1971 he worked as a freelance writer.

He lived in Dresden-Dölzschen since 1952 and found his final resting place in 1996 in the Dölzschen cemetery .
