The Baltic Queen is a ferry that Tallink uses on its regular services between Stockholm and Tallinn . The Baltic Queen was delivered to Tallink on April 16, 2009.
The ship was ordered on April 11, 2007 from the STX Europe shipyard . At that time, the question of where the ship would be used remained open. It was not until November 5th that Tallink's CEO Enn Pant announced that the new ship would most likely replace the Silja Europa on the Åbo - Mariehamn - Stockholm route, which was planned for repairs . The keel of the ship with hull number 1365 was laid on April 22nd, 2008 at the Rauma shipyard and was launched on December 5th at the end of the year. The ship was christened the same day by the four-year-old granddaughter of the head of Tallink Silja Oy Keijo Mehtose Mea Mehtonen in the name of Baltic Queen . From April 24, 2009, the ship was used on the Tallinn - Mariehamn - Stockholm route. On November 26, 2009, the ship switched to the Stockholm - Långnäs - Åbo route, which the ship operated until December 19, 2009. From December 20, 2009, the ship again operated the route Tallinn - Mariehamn - Stockholm. From October 31, 2010 to November 11, 2010 it again operated the Stockholm - Långnäs - Åbo route. On November 12, 2010, the ship again switched to the Tallinn - Mariehamn - Stockholm route. The Baltic Queen has been operating the Helsinki - Tallinn route since August 7, 2014 . From June 6 to June 8, 2015, the ship was used on the Helsinki - Riga route.
