The Baltrum IV is a small passenger ferry that operates between the North Sea island of Baltrum and the port in Neßmersiel .

The ship

The ship was built at the Julius Diedrich shipyard in Oldersum. With its extremely low draft, it complements the main ferries Baltrum I and Baltrum III as a kind of water taxi. The travel time to Neßmersiel is significantly less than that of Baltrum I.

The predecessor ship with the same name was the Baltrum IV , built in 1969 , which served the island between 1969 and 1982.
