Lucietta Affabili

Barbara Lucietta Fricemelica Affabili , also Barbara Lucietta Fricemelica Westenholz-Affabili (* 1725 in Venice , † September 20, 1776 in Schwerin ) was an Italian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Affabili, who was a celebrated soprano in Italy , came to Northern Germany around 1755. There she became a member of an Italian opera company that staged operas on the stages of the Hanseatic cities . In 1765 she also appeared as a guest in Hamburg and Lübeck . There the clarity and range of her voice was particularly praised.

Affabili married the tenor singer , composer and later conductor Carl August Friedrich Westenholz around 1765 and then became a court singer in Mecklenburg-Schwerin at the court of Ludwigslust .
