Barbara Míková (born February 26, 1991 ) is a Slovak grass skier . She is two-time world champion , three-time junior world champion and has won a world cup race so far .

Career

Barbara Míková competed in her first international competition at the 2009 Junior World Championships in Horní Lhota u Ostravy, Czech Republic . There she was fifth out of eleven starters in the giant slalom and sixth in the Super-G, but was canceled in the Super Combined. She did not take part in the slalom. Since 2010 the Slovak has also started in FIS and World Cup races and has shown good performances from the start. In her first two FIS races in Altenseelbach in May 2010 , she finished second behind the eventual overall World Cup winner Anna-Lena Büdenbender . In the first World Cup races, she could not quite keep up with the world's elite until she won the Dizin Super-G on June 6, 2010 , in which, however, some top runners did not take part. She also had great success at the 2010 Junior World Championship, which was also taking place in the Iranian ski resort of Dizin . With victories in giant slalom and super-G, second place in slalom and third place in super combined, she was the most successful participant in this event. On September 17th, she achieved another podium finish with second place in the giant slalom in Cesana San Sicario and she reached fifth place overall in her first World Cup season in 2010 . In the Czech Republic Cup 2010 she won six competitions. In winter 2010/2011 Míková also took part in FIS races in alpine skiing .

Míková was very successful at the 2011 World Championships in Goldingen with victories in the Super-G and in the giant slalom, making her the only double world champion at this event. At the Junior World Championship , which was held at the same time , she won another gold medal in the Super-G. In the World Cup, however, she only achieved a podium finish in third place in the 2011 season , the super combined in Forni di Sopra . In the overall World Cup, she dropped two places to seventh compared to the previous year. In the 2012 season Míková did not take part in any competitions.
