Barel is a district and one of 15 farmers in the municipality of Dötlingen in the Lower Saxony district of Oldenburg .

The village, seven kilometers northeast of the center of Dötlingen and on the Rittrumer Mühlbach , has 110 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). Agriculture is predominant. The Barel farmers, to which the village of Nuttel previously belonged, had 17 fireplaces and 97 residents in 1815.

In Bareler Moor was one in 1784 bog body , the girl from the Bareler Moor found. The only remaining part of the female bog body is now in the State Museum for Nature and Man in Oldenburg . An investigation carried out on the find revealed a date between 260 and 395 AD.
