Altona is a district of the municipality of Dötlingen in the Lower Saxony district of Oldenburg in the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park .
The district, located four kilometers southeast of the center of Dötlingen and on the northern border of the city of Wildeshausen , has 24 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2012). Altona is on the L 872 . The federal highway 213 runs south and the federal freeway 1 runs a short distance north.
The approximately eleven kilometer long Altonaer Mühlbach (also Altonaer Mühlenbach , 1584 Penningsbäke ), a right tributary of the Hunte , crosses the district.
history
Altona used to be a strategically important place due to its location. This is where the Flämische Strasse intersected with the Stedinger Weg and the old Frisian Heerstrasse . Therefore, around 1562, Count Anton I had a water mill (the “Penning mule”) built here with a customs post.
