The Altonaer Mühlbach (also Altonaer Mühlenbach , 1584 Penningsbäke ) is a river in the municipality of Dötlingen in the district of Oldenburg in Lower Saxony .
The approximately 11 km long brook has its source northeast of Brettorf near Uhlhorn . It flows in a southerly direction past Hockensberg and then through Altona (Dötlingen) , crosses under the A 1 and the L 872 and then flows west directly past Gut Altona . Shortly afterwards, the stream crosses under the Delmenhorst – Hesepe railway line , flows a short distance in a south-westerly direction along the B 213 and finally flows into the Hunte on the right-hand side on the northern outskirts of Wildeshausen .
The Altona watermill , known as Penning Mule in 1584 , was built by Anton I around 1562 . It owes its current appearance to a complete renovation in 1894. It was in operation until 1960.
