Bart Maris (* 1965 in Ninove ) is a Belgian jazz trumpeter .

Live and act

Bart Maris was a founding member of the formation X-Legged Sally and until 2003 of Think of One , then he played in the Flat Earth Society . With his brother Piet Maris he played in the Brussels folk band Jaune Toujours . To other band projects in which u. a. Hip-hop and rock music infuse include Electric Barbarian, Kamikaze, Aranis and the Sextet 69 , with double-staffed brass, bass and drums. In 2002 he presented the techno-jazz project Kreng with the live electronics engineer Pepijn Caudron ; with Jan Klare , Wilbert de Joode and Michael Vatcher he is a member of Jan Klare's 1000 . Since the beginning of the 1990s he worked a. a. with Tobias Delius , Edward Perraud , Peter Vermeersch , Pierre Vervloesem , Fred Frith , André Goudbeek and Viktor Tóth . In the field of jazz he was involved in 32 recording sessions between 1993 and 2019, following Tom Lord .

In 2013 he took part in the piece "Toutes les memes" by Stromae , which was also extracted as a single from his second album and for which a video was made.
