Bastian Bender

Bastian Bender (born January 14, 1981 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German radio presenter .

From 2000 to 2001 Bender was an intern, then a freelancer at hr3 . From 2001 to 2002 he was a presenter at planet more music radio and from August 2001 he worked for a radio station at Messe Frankfurt . From 2002 to 2006 Bender moderated the morning program of the radio station Radio RSG in Solingen and completed his internship there . He was also a Sunday presenter for Radio Wuppertal for two years . From 2006 Bender was the afternoon moderator at Landeswelle Thüringen in Erfurt . From July 2008 to September 2012 he was the morning presenter of the station with "Bastian Bender and the LandesWelle Morgenteam". He then moderated at MDR Thuringia until the end of 2017 . He has been moderating at WDR 4 since 2013 (mostly “My morning with Heike Knispel and Bastian Bender”). From 2018 to the beginning of 2020 he also moderated at COSMO on weekends .

Since December 2018 he has also been working in the strategy & program activities of the hr Pop Unit (hr3 & YOU FM). Since May 2019 he has been giving travel lectures (lecturer) for AIDA Cruises on board the AIDA cruise ships several times a year.

In his broadcast, he beat the world record in handshaking on October 13, 2008 by shaking the hand of the extreme athlete Guido Kunze for 9 hours and 32 minutes .

He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Erfurt since 2009 and was a guest lecturer at the Technical University of Ilmenau .

Awards

Bastian Bender was awarded the Central Germany Broadcasting Prize in 2007 for the best contribution ("Bender im Knast"), which is awarded by the Association of Central German State Media Authorities. The moderator had spent 24 hours in the Thuringian correctional facility Tonna and described his experiences in a radio report. The reasons given by the jury for the award include: “Bastian Bender knows how to make the 'self-experiment' tangible for the listener. The common thread is right, the noises are ideally placed and the conversation partners are original. It's about excellent pictures in an excellent contribution. "

In 2010 he and Saskia Kneisel received a recognition award for the contribution “The man behind the prime minister - A walk with Martin Lieberknecht” as part of the Central Germany Radio Prize.
