Bastrop is a place and seat of the county seat of Bastrop County in the US state of Texas in the United States of America .

The city is located in southeast Texas and has a total area of ​​18.9 km², of which 0.1 km² is water. The distance to Austin in the northwest is about 50 km, to San Antonio in the southwest about 160 km and to Houston in the east about 300 km.
