action

Since his release from the CIA , the bioscientist Benton Walsh has put his research work at the service of the Chechen rebels and runs a biological weapons laboratory on their territory. So that his results on bioweapons research do not fall into the wrong hands, the CIA instructs a small elite unit of the Delta Force to track down the scientist, capture him and bring him back home. The task force receives support from the Russian-born CIA agent Katya, whose inside knowledge of Chechen terrorists could prove useful. A Russian ghost town serves as a base / retreat on site.

In the forest of Belsan, in which many of the locals have disappeared without a trace, they come across an underground bunker. In addition to military equipment, you will find two corpses and evidence of bats. Shortly after Commander Martinez was killed by a rebel booby trap , the troops reached the hotspot, the target of their search, according to the coordinates , and had to fight off a massive attack by bloodthirsty bats. The colonel who used a flamethrower against the animals did not survive the attack.

The troops move on and come across the wanted camp of the Chechen rebels. In a hangar-like building you will find the access to the underground research laboratory of Dr. Walsh and capture the biologist. After a successful mission, the severely decimated group is now walking back to the base on the southern edge of the forest, where the helicopter awaits them, which will pick them up at the end of the day. Walsh uses the opportunity in a confusing situation and flees into the forest with his briefcase, which is unknown but apparently highly explosive. Captain Russo follows him and shoots the suitcase purposefully. The suitcase explodes, killing Walsh.

Russo does not want to wait with the remaining two team members in the ghost town for the pickup, instead, contrary to Katya's advice, he returns to the terrorist camp to render the genetically modified bats harmless. He starts the device that lures the bats into the camp and then detonates several explosive charges on site, killing most of the bloodthirsty animals. A Russian helicopter squadron has now arrived at the camp. The Russian commander behaves in an unfriendly and brutal manner towards Russo and instructs the Russian pilot to take Russo to the helicopter as a prisoner. On the way there, Russo recognizes Katya's face under the pilot's helmet visor . Katya turns out to be a double agent and takes care of Russo's trip home to America.
