A spring is said to have sprung from every point where he struck the earth. A chapel was built over these three sources, the Oratoire of the Trois-Fontaines. The body of Baudilius was taken by his wife to a place called Valsainte and buried there. His tomb soon became a destination for pilgrims . A church was built here in the 4th century and soon afterwards a monastery that existed until the 16th century.
