Honschaft Oefte
The Honschaft Oefte was from the Middle Ages into the 19th century to one of 14 Honschaften in district court Homberg the Office Angermund the Duchy of Berg . The area of the Honschaft today belongs to the Essen district of Kettwig in the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Essen.
In the course of administrative reform within the Grand Duchy of Berg in 1808 was mayor Velbert formed and the Honschaft formed in the 19th century then one of the lower administrative units in rural outskirts of Bergisch mayoralty in the district Elberfeld the administrative district of Dusseldorf within the Prussian Rhine Province .
According to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district from 1832, the towns and residential areas Hessenhof , Kotterheid and Unternipshagen belonged to the Honschaft . In addition, Schloss Oefte was part of the family.
Since 1846 the mayor's office Velbert has formed a municipality according to the municipal regulations for the Rhine province of July 23, 1845. On October 23, 1856, the municipality of Velbert was awarded the Rhenish city regulations . Oefte was separated from the city of Velbert on April 1, 1897 , together with the old honors Hasselbeck , Hetterscheid , Isenbügel , Leubeck and Tüschen and became part of the new rural community of Heiligenhaus .
On April 1, 1936, Oefte was transferred from Heiligenhaus to the town of Kettwig. As part of Kettwig, Oefte has been part of the city of Essen since 1975.
