The Bavarian State Medal for Internal Security , also known as the “Star of Security”, is an award from the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior , which has been awarded annually since 2013 to up to 15 personalities who have made long-term and sustainable services to internal security in Bavaria .
The Bavarian State Medal for Internal Security is only awarded in one stage.
The Bavarian State Medal for Internal Security has a star on the front and a coat of arms with diamonds with the inscription "BAYERISCHE STAATSMEDAILLE INNERE SICHERHEIT" and on the back the large Bavarian state coat of arms with the inscription "THE BAVARIAN STATE MINISTER OF THE INNER". It has a diameter of 50 mm from tip to tip of the star and is made of fine silver .
The Bavarian State Medal for Internal Security is not a medal or decoration in the sense of Art. 118 Para. 5 of the Bavarian Constitution . It is not intended to be worn in public.
