beNUTS is a German from Munich originating ska band, the 1994 by Daniel Mauss of The Braces and Pedro Steffan, formerly Skaos was founded.

history

The eight-member band was formed in 1994 in Munich. The band name should represent an invitation to dance. In 1996 the debut album Three Tone S'kaa was released on ( Artysan Records ).

The band was very active live in southern Germany and quickly moved abroad due to the multilingual lyrics. Two albums on the Düsseldorf label Wolverine Records lead the band through Germany (tour with Bad Manners ) and Europe ( Austria , Switzerland , France , Czech Republic , Spain , Slovenia , Italy ).

In 2004 beNUTS played several shows with the Spanish band Ska-P in Germany on the “Sex Sells” tour . In 2005 beNUTS appeared as one of the first German ska bands in Russia and Serbia . In 2006 the maxi CD A Fistful of Offbeat was released , on which the musical horizon expands from Ska to Offbeat Rock. In March of the same year the band played seven concerts in Japan . In December 2006 the band released the live album Best of ... Live! on Wolverine Records. The band's new singer was Konrad "El Konno" Wissmath. With him came the album Bavarian Ska Maniacs , which was originally only recorded for the Japanese market, but was also distributed in Europe via Pork Pie in the following year . In March 2008 the band appeared again in Russia and was broadcast on A-One TV and MTV Russia. In autumn 2008 the last founding member, Daniel Mauss, ended his active music career and took over the management of the band.

In November 2008 beNUTS was named the best German ska band by the DRMV . The Goethe-Institut sent the band on a tour through Romania in June 2009 . The seventh album Shut Up and Dance was released on October 30, 2009 on GLM Records . After the Germany tour of the same name, singer El Konno also left the band to devote himself to his own musical projects. After a year-long search for singers, during which the band became quieter, bassist Fabian also took over the position at the microphone at the end of 2010. Since the end of 2011, the former singer Silvester has been an active member again after almost 10 years of absence.

beNUTS celebrated its 20th stage anniversary in 2015.
