The Beasley River is a river in the northwest of the Australian state of Western Australia . It is located in the Pilbara region .

geography

The river has its source in the Hamersley Range about 40 kilometers northwest of Tom Price . It then flows southwest and flows into the Hardey River at the settlement of Cheela Plains .

Origin of name

The river was named in 1962 after the surveyor Thomas Beasley , who first mentioned it in a report of his 1885 expedition. This river was previously called the Turner River . It was renamed so that it could not be confused with another river of the same name in Western Australia.
