Beatrice Omwanza (born February 24, 1974 ) is a former Kenyan long-distance runner who specialized in the marathon .

Career

In 1999 she was sixth on the short distance at the World Cross Country Championship. In 2003 she won the Paris Marathon in 2:27:44 h. A year later she came third in the Ruhr Marathon and set her personal best in the 2004 Berlin Marathon in fourth with 2:27:19 h. At the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , she finished 29th after winning the Turin Marathon earlier that year . In 2006 she finished third in the Madrid Marathon .

In 2007 she won the Paderborn Easter run for the second time after 2005 on the half marathon course and set a personal record with 1:11:15 h. After a third place in the Hamburg Marathon , she won the premiere of the Kassel Marathon .

At the Berlin Half Marathon 2008 she was sixth with a time of 1:12:40 h. In the same year she finished third in the Vienna City Marathon with 2:37:36 h and was able to defend her victory in the Kassel Marathon.
She ended her competitive career that year.
