New block in Neuplanitz

On April 28, 1973 the foundation stone for Neuplanitz was laid. The construction phase lasts until 1981. Neuplanitz is the second largest panel building area in the city of Zwickau after Eckersbach E5 . Neuplanitz is - even today - on the Niederplanitz district.

Around 1988/1989 around 20,000 people lived in Neuplanitz. Since then the population has fallen by more than 50 percent due to heavy migration losses.
