The Beaver River is a tributary of Lake Superior in the US state of Minnesota .
The Beaver River rises south of Cloquet Lake in the southern part of Lake County . It initially flows south, later turns to the southeast and in the lower reaches to the east, before flowing into the Upper Lake after 37.7 km at Beaver Bay . Major tributaries are the East Branch and West Branch Beaver River . The catchment area of the Beaver River covers 320.7 km². The Baptism River runs north of the Beaver River , and the Splitrock River runs south .
