Behn Bevan Wilson (born December 19, 1958 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played 668 games for the Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Black Hawks in the National Hockey League in the course of his playing career between 1975 and 1988 of the defense attorney has denied. His younger brother Bart was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Wilson spent 1975 to 1978 a very moving junior career that this period a total of three it franchises of the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League saw play. Initially the defender was in the 1975/76 season and the beginning of the following for the Ottawa 67’s . During the season 1976/77 he moved within the league to the Windsor Spitfires . Later in the year he also made his professional debut when he played 13 games for the Kalamazoo Wings in the International Hockey League . The 1977/78 season Wilson finally denied again in the OMJHL, where he was used for the Kingston Canadians . After the season, the defender was selected after he had scored 78 scorer points in 52 games , in the NHL Amateur Draft 1978 in sixth overall position by the Philadelphia Flyers from the National Hockey League .
At the beginning of the 1978/79 season , the robust offensive defender immediately received a place in the squad with the Philadelphia Flyers and completed 80 games in his rookie season . In the following years, Wilson remained an integral part of Philadelphia's squad, even if he was repeatedly criticized for his sometimes unfocused game. In addition, he developed into a reputable pugilist. Overall, the Canadian wore the Flyers jersey for five seasons and had his best season in the 1980/81 game year , when he scored 63 points in 77 games and was invited to the 1981 NHL All-Star Game . The year before he had reached the final series of the Stanley Cup playoffs in 1980 with the Flyers .
In June 1984 Wilson was given in exchange for Doug Crossman and a second-round vote in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft to the Chicago Black Hawks . There Wilson continued his NHL career successfully in the following three years. Due to a back injury sustained in April 1986 in a playoff game against the Toronto Maple Leafs , the defensive player missed the entire 1986/87 season . Only for the following season did the Canadian return to the league and play 58 games. In October 1987, Wilson left the Blackhawks as he was selected in the NHL Waiver Draft by the Vancouver Canucks . For the Canucks, however, he did not complete a single game in the 1988/89 season because his back injury broke out again. In the summer of 1989 he ended his active career at the age of 30.
