Bella Vista is a city in Benton County in the US state of Arkansas . At the time of the United States Census 2000 , Bella Vista was a census-designated place (CDP) and had 16,582 residents. Founded in 1965, it was the largest non-incorporated community in Arkansas. In 2006, the residents voted to form a town . Until the official estimate in 2009, the population had increased to 25,480.

Bella Vista is located in the middle of the Ozark Mountains , a highland with deeply cut river valleys that extends from Arkansas to the states of Missouri , Oklahoma and Kansas .
The place is on US Highway 71 at the end of Interstate 540 between Bentonville and the state line with Missouri .
According to the United States Census Bureau , the settlement has an area of 171.9 km², of which 169.9 km² is land and 2.0 km² (é 1.19%) is water.
Demographic data
At the time of the United States Census 2000, Bella Vista inhabited 16,582 people. The population density was 97.6 people per km ². There were 8854 housing units at an average of 52.1 per km ². The population consisted of 97.87% of White , 0.18% Black or African American , 0.69% Native American , 0.27% Asian , 0.01% Pacific Islander , 0.20% said other races to belong and 0.78% named two or more races. 1.01% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
The residents of Bella Vistas distributed to 7818 households out of which 13.5% were living in children under 18 years of age. 72.4% of households were married, 3.2% had a female head of the household without a husband and 23.2% were not families. 20.5% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 13.3% of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.10 and the average family size was 2.38 people.
