museum

The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art , designed by architect Moshe Safdie , opened in 2011. The museum's collection was brought together by the heiress of the Wal-Mart concern , Alice Walton , and is constantly being expanded with her funds.

economy

Bentonville is home to the Wal-Mart retail group , the world's top-selling company with annual sales of more than $ 500.3 billion in fiscal 2017. The massive population increase is likely due in part to this. Some tourists also come to Bentonville to visit the first store that Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton opened in 1950.
