Bellabeg ( Gaelic : Am Baile Beag ) is a Scottish village in the Council Area Aberdeenshire . It is located around 20 kilometers west of Alford and northwest of Aboyne on the left bank of the Don on the eastern edge of the Cairngorm Mountains .
history
Between 1690 and 1730 which was at the site mansion Bellabeg House built. As well as the nearby Skellater House there was an early seat of a laird from the Clan Forbes . Bellabeg hosts the Lonach Highland Gathering and Games annually, which received some attention after the once-nearby comedian Billy Connolly acted as patron.

The A944 ( Aberdeen - Corgraff ) is the main thoroughfare from Bellabeg. It crosses the A97 a short distance east of the village , while the A939 is accessible after a short distance to the west .
