Bende Sıra (German: Ich bin dran; English: It's my turn) is a German short film by the Berlin painter and set designer İsmet Ergün based on her own script from 2007.
Movie info
The film, shot in Turkish, which is to be understood as an homage to the cinema, shows the poor children of Istanbul playing. They regularly pool their money as soon as there is enough for a movie ticket. A counting rhyme then decides which of the children can go to the cinema. After the performance, all of the children listen intently to the winning child: According to the rules of the game, they are obliged to tell the other story about the film. One day a stranger turns up and gives all the children money for their own card ...
Bende Sıra, a German-Turkish co-production, premiered in Berlin in November 2007 and has received a number of important awards.
