Benedix von Bremer (lawyer)

Benedix von Bremer (also: Benedikt von Bremer and Benedict Bremer ; * August 14, 1717 in Cadenberge ; † July 15, 1779 in Bremervörde ) was a German lawyer , electoral Braunschweig-Lüneburg district administrator , privy councilor and minister .

Life

Benedix von Bremer was a scion of the Lower Saxon ministerial family von Bremer, which can be traced back to the first half of the 12th century . His parents were the land and legation councilor Benedix Georg von Bremer (* August 15, 1686 - December 11, 1754) and his wife Clara Sophia von Grote (* 1688 - June 21, 1754), daughter of the Lüneburg landscape director and abbot of St. Michael August Grote and the Hippolyta Katharina, born of Plato .

From 1736 he attended the Knight's Academy in Lüneburg , 1737 the University of Leipzig , 1738 the University of Halle and 1739 the University of Göttingen , where he received his doctorate in both rights in 1741. He was later senior appellate councilor in Celle and in 1754 he became a secret chamber councilor in Hanover and in 1759 real minister.

He married Caroline Auguste von Haus , a daughter of the British Privy Councilor Friedrich Ludwig von Haus auf Eimbeckhausen and Charlotte von Bennigsen . Benedict von Bremer was the father of the future Minister of State Friedrich Franz Dietrich Graf von Bremer .

Awards

Bremer was an honorary member of the Royal Society of Sciences in Göttingen.
