Since July 1, 2009, Benndorf has been part of the municipality of Lanitz-Hassel-Tal in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Benndorf lies between Apolda and Naumburg (Saale) on the edge of the Finn , a mountain ridge on the state border between Saxony-Anhalt / Thuringia. The Kochelbach flows through the village.
history
In the oldest documents, the Thuringian families of taverns and marshals are mentioned as the landlords of the individual hooves and farms. From 1302 the place was gradually sold to the Pforta monastery . The church was a branch of Spielberg. After the secularization of the Pforta monastery in 1540, Benndorf belonged to the Pforta Electoral Office from 1543 to 1815 . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna the place in 1815 came to Prussia and in 1816 the county Naumburg in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged until 1944th
The exact date of incorporation from Benndorf to Spielberg is unknown. With the incorporation of Spielberg and its districts, Benndorf became part of the Taugwitz community on October 17, 2004 . Since the merger of the communities Möllern and Taugwitz on July 1, 2009, Benndorf has been part of the new community of Lanitz-Hassel-Tal.

South of the district runs through the neighboring town of Poppel, the federal road 87 from Apolda to Naumburg (Saale) . The ecumenical pilgrimage route from Görlitz to Vacha runs through the village.
