Benno Bruno Brückner (born May 9, 1824 in Roßwein ; † May 2, 1905 in Berlin ) was a German Lutheran theologian.

Brückner studied at the University of Leipzig and was given the post of afternoon preacher at the university church. In 1850 he became a pastor in Hohburg near Wurzen . In 1853 he was called back as associate professor for the New Testament and second university preacher at the University of Leipzig, and in 1855 he was promoted to full professor (combined with the position of university preacher and director of the seminar for practical theology ). In 1860 he became canon of the Meissen bishopric and Saxon consistorial councilor. He suggested the establishment of the St. Pauli seminary in Leipzig, of which he was appointed founding director in 1862. In 1868/69 he was rector of the University of Leipzig.

After the death of Karl Immanuel Nitzsch in 1869, he took over his position as provost at St. Nikolai and St. Marien in Berlin and as a member of the Old Prussian Evangelical Church Council (from 1877 as its spiritual vice-president). He also received an honorary professorship at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin . He gave up this when he was appointed general superintendent for the city of Berlin in 1873 . In 1892 he retired as general superintendent and vice-president, but did not give up the provost until 1898. In 1884 he was appointed to the Prussian State Council.
