Benno Credé

Karl Cecil Benno Credé (born September 1, 1847 in Berlin ; † March 14, 1929 in Dresden ) was a German surgeon and general practitioner à la suite of the Saxon medical corps .

Life

Benno Credé was born in Berlin in 1847 as the son of the gynecologist Carl Siegmund Franz Credé . He attended the humanistic Thomas School in Leipzig until 1865 . After graduating from high school, he studied medicine at the University of Zurich and Leipzig University . Credé was a corps student during his studies ; In 1866 he joined the Corps Tigurinia Zurich and in 1869 the Corps Saxonia Leipzig . In 1870 he was at Carl Thiersch at the Medical Faculty of the University of Leipzig Dr. med. PhD.

He then took part in the Franco-German War (1870/71). He then went on a study trip and in 1874 became an assistant doctor at the surgical clinic of the Leipzig University Hospital . From 1877 he was a resident doctor in Dresden and a military doctor in the medical corps of the Royal Saxon Army . In 1878 he opened a private surgical clinic. He was also a surgeon in military training courses. In 1881 he retired from active service. After leaving the company, he was appointed Senior Staff Physician in 1896, Senior Physician General in 1897 and General Physician à la suite of the Royal Saxon Medical Corps in 1900.

In 1892 he became senior physician and in 1897 chief physician at the Carolahaus of the Albertverein in the Dresden district of Johannstadt . From 1901 to 1918 he was the senior consultant in the surgical department of the new Dresden-Johannstadt City Hospital , the forerunner of the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital in Dresden . He suggested the establishment of a nursing school. In 1901 he co-founded the association for medical courses in Dresden. He introduced colloidal silver for medical infection control and published a. a. for gallbladder surgery.
