Benson & Hedges World Series 1991/92
The Benson & Hedges World Series 1991/92 was a three-nation tournament that was played from December 6, 1991 to January 20, 1992 in Australia in one-day cricket . In the tournament belonging to the 1991/92 international cricket season, teams from India and the West Indies took part alongside the host . In the final, Australia prevailed with two wins against India.
prehistory
The tournament took place in Australia , alongside India's parallel test series . The West Indies previously contested a winning ODI series in Pakistan . The tournament was the direct preparation for the 1992 Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand for all three teams .
format
In a preliminary round, each team played four times each. There were two points for a win and one point for a draw or no result. The first two of the group qualified for the final and played for the tournament victory in a best-of-three series.
