Extraction and presentation

Bensultap can be obtained by reacting 2-dimethylamino-1,3-dichloropropane hydrochloride with sodium phenylthiosulfonate.

Bensultap is a white, odorless solid that is sparingly soluble in water. It decomposes from a temperature of 150 ° C and slowly hydrolyzes in water.

use

Bensultap is used as an insecticide ( nereistoxin analogue insecticide) against pests such as Coleoptera and Lepidoptera .

Admission

In Switzerland, preparations containing Bensultap for combating field slugs and slugs were approved, but the approval was terminated. In the EU countries including Germany and Austria as well as in Switzerland, no plant protection products with the active ingredient Bensultap are permitted anymore.
