House of Hummingbird (original title: Beolsae ) is an independent film by the South Korean director Kim Bo-ra from 2018. Stylistically, the film is assigned to the Newtro trend in South Korea. Newtro is a suitcase word from the English new ('new') and retro . It means facing the retro style in a new way.

In 1994, South Korea was caught in the soccer World Cup fever while North Korea mourned Kim Il-sung . The young girl Eun-hee only notices this as she passes by. The eighth grader feels like an outsider everywhere.

House of Hummingbird premiered at the Busan International Film Festival 2018, where it received the NETPAC Award and the KNN Audience Award. The film was later shown at the Berlinale 2019 and received the jury award in the Generation 14plus section . On August 29, 2019, the film was released in South Korean cinemas with a KMRB age rating of 15 and reached 132,027 visitors.
