Bergede is a district of the city of Soest in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1969 Bergede formed an independent municipality.

The agricultural village of Bergede is located about four kilometers southeast of the Soest core city and is the highest district of Soest.

Name and first mention

A farm in Ber (e) heyde was first mentioned in 1289. The current place name is first recorded in 1441. The etymology of the place name allows different interpretations. Probably means Bergede about raw land with woods , would be possible instead of "wood" but also the interpretations Eber , pear or berry .

history

Since the 19th century Bergede formed a rural community in official wages of Soest . On July 1, 1969, the Bergede community became part of the city of Soest through the Soest / Beckum law .
