Soest and its districts

Lendringsen is a district of Soest in Westphalia . The village of Oberbörde is located on the Haarstrang south of the BAB 44 and has no common border with the Soest city center. Neighboring about 1 km to the north and west are the Soest district of Hiddingsen, east of the Soest district of Müllingsen , and south of the municipality of Möhnesee . The Lendringser Schledde runs between Müllingsen and Lendringsen .

In the immediate vicinity of the village is the Hiddingsen stone box .

History and place name

Lendringsen was first mentioned either in 1160 as Lenderenchusen or in 1291 as Lendrinchusen . The ending "-ingsen", which is usual for the area around Soest, is a shortening of "-inghausen" or the corresponding predecessor words. The name can be interpreted as "at the houses of the people of Landheri" (the latter one since the 9th century occupied personal name).

Lendringsen was incorporated into the district town of Soest on July 1, 1969 .
