Enkesen is a district of the city of Soest in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1969, Enkesen formed an independent community under the name Enkesen bei Paradiese .

geography

The agricultural village of Enkesen is located about four kilometers west of the Soest town center.

history

The first written mention of Enkesen comes from the 13th century (around 1282). Since the 19th century, Enkesen near Paradiese formed a rural community in the office of Schwefe in the Soest district . On July 1, 1969, the municipality of Enkesen near Paradiese became part of the city of Soest through the Soest / Beckum law . Today, Enkesen, together with the neighboring village of Paradiese, forms a town in the city of Soest with a joint mayor .
