Bernadette Pichlmaier (born March 28, 1969 ) is a German marathon runner and German marathon champion in 2009 and 2010.

Career

She ran her first marathon in Munich in 1996 at the age of 26 and needed 3:42 hours for the distance.
However, she did not begin her competitive sports career until the age of 38. At the 2007 Frankfurt Marathon she finished 17th in a time of 2:43:38 h. In the following year she was third in the Gutenberg Marathon in Mainz in 2:43:35 h and thus also third in the German Marathon Championships held as part of this race. At the German championships in the 10-kilometer road race , she achieved sixth place. She won the half marathon race as part of the marathon in the border triangle and improved as tenth in the Frankfurt marathon to 2:38:00 h. The following year she achieved third place in the German Half Marathon Championships.

In 2009 she achieved the greatest success of her career so far when she won the Gutenberg Marathon in a time of 2:38:44 h and thus became the German marathon champion. After defending her title in the half marathon in the border triangle, she climbed to 2:35:26 h in the Frankfurt marathon and was the second-best German in 13th place. In May 2010 she was able to defend her title as German marathon champion again with 2:40:58 h in the Gutenberg marathon. In June 2010 she also became Bavarian champion over the 10,000 meters.

At the Munich Marathon, she won first place in 2010 and 2011.

At the Hanover Marathon 2012 she was the best German runner in April. A week later she became German runner-up half marathon in Griesheim .

In 2015 she won the 14th Erdinger city run over 10 km in 39:41 minutes.

In July 2017, the 48-year-old won the half marathon in Unterhaching in a time of 1:24:54 h, as in the previous year .

The athlete with the nickname "Bernie" starts for the LC Freising (part of the LAG Mittlere Isar ) and is trained by Francisco Muñoz. The trained florist is married, has two children and lives in Tegernbach (Rudelzhausen) .
