The Bernauer Achen , in the upper reaches of the Rottauer Bach , is a flowing body of water in the Bavarian district of Rosenheim . It arises on the northern slopes of the Hochplatte in the Chiemgau Alps as the Rottauer Bach and initially flows in a northerly direction. At Rottau the Ache makes a bend to the northwest and is then referred to as the Bernauer Achen. After it has passed Bernau am Chiemsee , it flows into the Chiemsee in Irschener Winkel .
