Bernd Monath (* 1960 in Bad Kreuznach ) is a German historian , non-fiction and novel author .

Life and work

Born in 1960 in Bad Kreuznach , Bernd Monath completed his studies in the field of structural engineering as a graduate engineer and has been working in project management ever since. The enthusiasm for sailing ships that went back to his childhood led to his first work Versailles of the Seas , published in 2016 by Frank & Timme , Berlin . It describes the historical , art-historical and technical aspects of sailing ships in the 17th century Baroque at the court of Louis XIV . The work is part of numerous academic libraries , for example the Princeton University Library , the Bibliothèque Interuniversitaire de la Sorbonne , or the Library of Congress .

His follow-up works can be assigned to fiction . Cats are only people is a humorous, autobiographical novel about his coexistence with cats, BORDIOC and Der Felsengarten von Utgard are thrillers and detective novels with borrowings from science fiction .

Monath lives and works with his wife and their son near Frankfurt am Main .
