Bernd Peter Hubertus Römer (born December 29, 1968 in Wuppertal ) is a German lawyer and actor .

Life

After his Abitur at the High School in Bergkamen Bernd Roman graduated from 1989 to 1995, a study of the law in Passau , Toulouse and Cologne . He completed his first state examination in law and was a trainee lawyer in Cologne and Israel from 1997 to 2000 . He then completed a five-month internship at the European Commission in Brussels at the Directorate-General for Competition. In April 2000 he was admitted to the bar.

Bernd Römer worked as a research assistant in the Cologne office of the law firm Oppenhoff & Rädler and then in the Bundestag office of the then Federal Minister of Transport Matthias Wissmann . After his admission as a lawyer, he worked in the areas of criminal and civil law in particular. From 2010 to 2016, as a member of the legal advisory team, he advised the former President of the Republic of Srpska, Dr. Radovan Karadžić, in his trial before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague.

He also worked for a long time at the television station Sat.1 . In the show Richter Barbara Salesch he played the role of public prosecutor from autumn 2000 to spring 2012 . From time to time he also appeared as the chief public prosecutor at Niederig and Kuhnt . In family cases , the successor format to the show Richter Barbara Salesch, he continued to appear from spring 2012, this time as a civil lawyer.
