Bernhard Albrecht (painter)
Bernhard Johannes Albrecht (born December 29, 1758 in Vienna , † December 2, 1822 in Wiener Neustadt ) was an Austrian painter and etcher .
Life
Bernhard Albrecht is said to have been artistically educated in a variety of ways and to have proven his ability especially as a landscape painter . He attended the landscape drawing school in Vienna and, after completing his school education, went on a study trip to Italy .
In 1784 he etched paintings by Christian Brand (1695–1759) and Jacob Isaacksz. van Ruisdael . From 1788 Bernhard Albrecht was a drawing teacher at the Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt. Two gouaches from a series of 13 pieces have survived from this period , depicting scenes from the life and training of the young cadets of the military academy. Today they are in the permanent exhibition of the Vienna Army History Museum .
